Our Clinic Story

Upright Dental Clinic started with a pattern we could not ignore. Too many people walked in holding their jaw, having managed the pain for weeks with painkillers and warm salt water, hoping it would pass. By the time they sat in the chair, a small cavity had become a root canal, and a simple filling had become an extraction. Almost none of them had come late because they did not care. They came late because dental care had always felt expensive, rushed, or frightening.

So we built the kind of clinic we would want for our own families. We opened our doors at No. 1 Ijaiye Road, Gabol Plaza in Ogba with a small team, careful hands, and one rule: no patient leaves without understanding what is happening in their mouth and what it will cost. We show you the images. We explain the options — including the cheaper one, and including doing nothing for now. Then we let you decide.

Some visits we remember more than others. The teenager who covered her mouth whenever she laughed, and the photo she sent months after her braces came off. The trader from the next street who came in terrified of needles and now brings his three children for their check-ups. The mother who booked a scaling appointment and admitted, sitting down, that it was her first dental visit in nineteen years. Those moments are the reason we are careful with the way we speak to people, not only with the way we treat them.

Today Upright Dental Clinic serves families, professionals, students and children from Ogba and across Lagos. We have grown — better equipment, a fuller team, wider treatment options — but the measure has not changed. We want the person who was scared of the dentist to book their next appointment without being reminded, and to smile in photographs again.
